The identity of the project lies in the immersive experience of ma­neuvering through the orchestrated Bamboo Forest. It celebrates Western Sichuan bamboo culture through an integrated world of ideas in spatial articulations and sensory creations.

To craft the journey through the site, we recognize that it is import­ant to not only consider bamboo in multiple dimensions and appli­cations, such as bamboo as structure, surface, activity, landscape, and an ecological contributor, but also to create the cohesive at­mosphere and the tangible feeling of being embraced by a Bamboo Forest.

Inspired by the typology of traditional villages in Western Sichuan rural areas, we have identified four essential inter-dependent el­ements that allow people to dwell in nature gracefully: the bamboo forest, the farm field, the river, and houses. Departing from that, we re-articulate the spatial relations among them - the building gently rises from the farm field; the river extends into the building and con­nects back to the regional stream; the bamboo forest finds its path to integrate with the interior space and symbolizes vertical struc­tures; small houses become pocket spaces scattered around.
