The project site is located on an open space around Xitou Town, characterized by flat terrain and adjacent to an elevated high-speed railway. The main function of the Lantian Post Station is children's entertainment, serving as the face and iconic structure of the entire complex. A key design challenge is how to integrate the building into the rural environment while creating a unique architectural identity. To address this, we selected the traditional square-roofed grain stacks commonly found in the fields of Huizhou to echo the locality of the building through pastoral imagery. The exterior skin is woven, creating a visual connection with sky lanterns.

In terms of color, we drew extensively from rural symbols, blending the hues of autumn fields with the building's atmosphere to create a landmark structure that resonates with its pastoral context. The building's exterior features LED screens at night, capable of projecting traditional culture and folk crafts, transforming it into a vibrant light landmark that enhances the nighttime ambiance of the site.

Once completed, the Lantian Post Station will become a local landmark, seamlessly integrated into the rice field landscape of southern Anhui. Even when traveling swiftly on the passing high-speed train, people will be able to recognize and remember it immediately.
