The young architects from the Liaobu Ji International Construction Society conducted a seven-day field research in Hengkeng Village, focusing on local rural life. Through on-site investigations, workshops in environmental psychology, and collaborative community activities, they extracted the concept of "home" and designed an exhibition named "Our Space, Our Home" in the Luanpo Ancestral Hall. This exhibition, located in a traditional southern village's ancestral hall—a symbol of societal relationships—presents a dialogue on home, belonging, and the anticipation of a better life.
We hope this is not a static exhibition but a growing one. We aim for it to contain not just results of storytelling and expression, but also the processes of dialogue and co-creation.The exhibition is divided into three main sections: Interviews about Home: Descriptions from Hengkeng Village residents about home and a sense of belonging.Co-Creation of Home: Using environmental psychology workshops to guide villagers in depicting and designing their homes. Empowering a Shared Home through Design: Proposals from the young architects of Liaobu Ji for the village.
We believe every individual has a unique perspective on life, and each person’s understanding of "home" should be seen clearly—whether it's those who have lived here for generations or those seeking a better life in a new place.
